In the present study, three objectives were formulated: First objective was to characterize Lifters male volleyball university level players on their SAQ Characteristics. Second objective was to find out relationship between SAQ Characteristics and Lifters performance of male university level volleyball players. Third objective was to estimate Lifters performance on the basis of SAQ Characteristics in volleyball players. Twenty male volleyball players from different universities of India and who performed Lifter positions were selected as subjects. Age of the subjects ranged from 18 to 24 years. The study was conducted by taking SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) Characteristics as independent variables and Lifters performance was selected for dependent variable. To characterize university level male volleyball Lifter players on their SAQ Characteristics, descriptive statistics was used. To find out relationship between SAQ Characteristics and Lifters performance of male university level volleyball players, Product Moment Method of Correlation was used. To estimate Lifters performance on the basis of SAQ Characteristics in volleyball players, multiple regression equation was established. Results shows that relationship between Lifters Performance and Speed (r = -.908), Lifters Performance and Agility (r = -.955), Lifters Performance and Quickness (r = -.921), Speed and Agility (r = .885), Speed and Quickness (r = .840) & Agility and Quickness (r = .918) are found significant at .05 level of significance. Two regression models were established in this study. Established models are: (1) Lifters performance = 46.44 – 2.12 X Agility, (2) Lifters performance = 49.25 – 1.54 X Agility – 1.41 X Speed.
Key Words: Lifter, SAQ Characteristics.
